Looking for a fun drink for a cold winter's night or for that Holiday Party? Here is a great recipe we found over at Veria. It was featured on the show "What's Brewing?".
Accoridng to the Veria website, "What's Brewing explores the ancient backstories of some of our favorite modern-day drinks—like coffee, tea, and beer." The show airs 11:30 AM ET daily.
Ingredients
3/4 cup boiling water
6 tablespoons chai blend
1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cups whole milk
whipped cream
cinnamon sticks
nutmeg
Preparation
Pour boiling water over tea and steep for 5 minutes. Strain leaves and pour tea into saucepan on medium heat. Add cocoa and sugar, stir till dissolved. Add milk and heat through.
Pour into cups, top with whipped cream and garnish with cinnamon stick and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
If you're going to use this involved a process, why use a chai blend? Why not just use a good black tea and make it from scratch?
I personally prefer more cardamom and less cinnamon too. =) But I have actually come to like cinnamon more, recently, too.
