Taking a trip to The Tao of Tea the other day, I picked up one of their newer Ayurvedic Tea Blends named Shanti. They have a couple of others, but I chose this one based on the recommendation from a friend.
The scent of the un-steeped leaves is quite pleasant--a light refreshing earthy spearmint aroma. As you can see, it is also interesting in appearance. The certified organic blend includes Holy Basil 'Tulsi' leaves, fennel seeds, dried orange peel and spearmint.
According to preparation recommendations, the water should be between 180 – 200 degrees Fahrenheit. And steep between 3-5 minutes.
The finished brew is a reddish color with a very delightful and sweet flavor.
