Well, the nag babies of censorship are out in full force over this piece hanging in Portland International Airport. Seems far right conservatives are calling for everything from boycotts to burnings if the art is not removed from the wall of PDX. Go figure.
To me, art has always been an expresion of the artist and nothing more. Art may at times be representative of a group of people or segment of the population, but all in all it is usually the thoughts of the artist. It is important to note that the purpose of art is to also make the viewer think. By the growing controversy, it has definately achieved that end.
I must go back to my original thought about the right-wingers who are calling for the perverbial book burning on the piece-- Me thinks thou dost protest too much.
Peace and Joy!

UPDATE: Apparently The Oregonian's REDDIT picked up this post for comment. The controvesy must be larger than I thought--or maybe I am just creating the controversy :) . Anyways, Thanks for the trackback, Oregonian.

Seems like it wasn't long ago fanatics had problems with another piece of art at PDX - A Christmas tree.

It appears the little bitches on the right are still nagging about the artwork. Uh, when will they ever quit?
